Our Story
At RLT Destinations, "Road Less Traveled", our story is one of friendship, family, and a shared passion for adventure.
Matt and Jeremy have been close friends for over 20 years. Matt and his wife Elizabeth have been married for just as long, raising two wonderful daughters. Life took an unexpected and serendipitous turn three years ago when Jeremy met Megan—who, as fate would have it, turned out to be one of Matt's good friends from high school. Megan brought her four amazing kids into Jeremy’s life. Their blended family became complete when Jeremy and Megan tied the knot in September 2023, with Matt as the best man and Elizabeth as a bridesmaid.
Jeremy and Megan’s love for adventure blossomed through their travels in a 31ft Airstream, which they purchased in 2022. Together, they took their kids on glamping trips across the country, discovering the joys of blending nature with luxury. Over the years, these experiences inspired Matt and Elizabeth to join Megan and Jeremy on glamping getaways to the scenic Hocking Hills. One of these trips in 2022 became extra special when Jeremy proposed to Megan at the breathtaking Whispering Cave.
These shared adventures and entrepreneurial spirits planted the seeds for RLT Destinations—standing for The Road Less Traveled. While the Hocking Hills boasts many unique stays, there’s a noticeable lack of true glamping experiences. This sparked an idea: why not bring luxury glamping to the area, complete with custom Airstreams and immersive outdoor amenities?
In 2023, our families joined forces to purchase 23 stunning acres on State Route 180, nestled along the picturesque Laurel Run. The name "Streams and Dreams at Laurel Run" pays homage to the beautiful creek that winds through the property. Building this glamping retreat from the ground up has been a labor of love, requiring time, patience, and perseverance.
As we prepare to open our doors in 2025, we couldn’t be more excited to share this dream with you. At RLT Destinations, our goal is to create a place where couples, small families, and adventurers can escape the hustle of daily life, reconnect with nature, and indulge in a luxurious, unforgettable glamping experience.
